Ecological Network Construction of a National Park Based on MSPA and MCR Models: An Example of the Proposed National Parks of “Ailaoshan-Wuliangshan” in China

The establishment of ecological networks facilitates genetic exchange among species in national parks and is an effective means avoiding habitat fragmentation. Using the proposed “Ailaoshan-Wuliangshan” Yunnan Province, China, as study area, identification source sites using morphological spatial pattern analysis (MSPA) method, extraction potential corridors minimum resistance model (MCR) construction network were performed. Based on gravity model, important selected, corresponding optimization strategies presented. results showed that (1) core area identified by MSPA was 4440.08 km2, with a low degree fragmentation, distributed strips within woodland land classes area; (2) least cost based 10 indicators four dimensions tenure, geographic factors, vegetation characteristics, human meddling; (3) included 13 sites, 77 corridors, 48 25 pedestrian pathways extracts optimal corridor connecting natural reserve; (4) closure constructed (1.18), line point rate (3.08), connectivity (1.12), ratio (0.98). By patches can be accurately to ensure integrity park while minimizing demand pressure surrounding communities, which provides some reference for other parks’ China.
